METAexpo

METAexpo is a conceptual master plan that grew out of grassroots brainstorming, coupled with the advanced design work performed by licensed architects and landscape architects. 

A broad array of individuals, organizations and small businesses came together in a series of meetings in 2011-12, producing a 7-page list of recommendations for the future of the Fairgrounds.  Creative members of the group, landscape architects Ken Weikel and Beth Hagenbuch, and architect Mark Johnson translated the recommendations into a visual plan called “Michigan Energy Technology Agriculture- expo.”
